Stephens County offers quality educational opportunities from preschool to technical studies and 4-year degrees. All Stephens County Schools are SACS accredited.

Higher Education:

North Georgia Technical College (NGTC)- Currahee Campus
NGTC is a public, 2-year technical college designed to prepare future workers for success in various occupations. The Currahee Campus of NGTC was completed in southern Stephens County in 2005. This campus is a 45,000+ square foot state-of-the-art facility located in Hayestone Brady Business Park. More than 25 degree and certificate programs are offered at NGTC. Courses of Study

Toccoa Falls College
Toccoa Falls College is an accredited 4-year Christian liberal arts college with a history of educational excellence since 1911. Its 1,000-acre campus includes the famous Toccoa Falls, a waterfall of 186 feet (higher than Niagara Falls!) that is a popular tourist attraction. 26 majors are offered at Toccoa Falls, with some courses available online. SCStephens County Schools – 100 years of excellence

  • Stephens County School System is one of only 34 school systems in the state of Georgia in which all schools met Adequate Yearly Progress goals of the No Child Left Behind Act.
  • 65% of 2008 graduates were HOPE Scholarship eligible.
  • Two elementary schools have been named Title I Distinguished Schools for 5 consecutive years.
  • The Governor’s Office of Student Achievement named Big A Elementary a "Platinum School" and Stephens County Middle School a “Gold School” for test scores in the 97th percentile of greatest gains.
  • Successful Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) campaigns have allowed the district to provide technological advancements such as new computers and interactive white boards.
  • 72% of teachers have advanced degrees.
  • Students continue to top the region on the CRCT.
  • Groundbreaking for the $43M new high school began this past summer (pictured above), and construction is expected to be completed in 2010.
