What is Georgia Work Ready?

Work Ready was launched in 2006 to build the nation’s best workforce and ensure that Georgia companies have the talent they need to keep ahead of the competition. The main initiative of the Work Ready program is the worker certification program that assesses the real world skills of Georgia’s workers and provides valuable job training. The Work Ready program is available at no cost to companies meeting minimum hiring requirements.

Companies can implement Work Ready in 3 ways:

1. Job Profiling: Job profiles identify the job tasks and skill levels necessary to be successful in specific jobs.

2. Work Ready Certificates: The Work Ready exam measures core skills to ensure the right person is placed in the right job every time.

3. Hire Work Ready: Businesses with 50 employees or less can now apply to participate in Georgia’s new “Hire Work Ready” program to gain eligibility to receive $250 per certified Work Ready individual hired. Small businesses will be eligible for $250 per certified Work Ready individual hired up to $1,250.
