Manufacturing Video Winners Announced

Each student paired up with a local manufacturer in their county to produce a video highlighting that industry. After the videos were completed they were shared on the web and winners were decided based on popular vote. North Georgia Tech sponsored the contest and winners were announced at their annual Manufacturing Summit in Clarkesville. Stephens County High School Student, Derrick Hofford, produced a video about the products, leadership, and uniqueness of Global Partitions.

A group of five northeast Georgia High School Students created videos to show 'What is so cool about manufacturing' in an effort to showcase the career potential offered in the manufacturing sector.
The SCDA is responsible for the recruitment of new businesses including industrial, manufacturing, distribution, corporate and regional headquarters and customer service centers. It also provides support and assistance with all other types of economic development projects.
The SCDA also works with existing businesses and industries to ensure their continued success. While recruitment of new industry is a significant function, aiding in existing industry expansion and retention is just as significant. About 80 percent of all new jobs in Georgia come as a result of existing industry expansion.
