Standard Register now Taylor Communications
The last week of March Standard Register became Taylor Communications and just this week they revealed new signage at their plant. Standard Register had been in the print industry for more than 100 years when Taylor Corp. bought them out of bankruptcy in June of 2015. There are currently about 100 employees at the Toccoa plant and they intend to keep all of them on board. The purchase of the Standard Register building makes Taylor Communications the largest privately-held printing center in North America employing more than 12,000 employees. This strong company has a bright future in Toccoa-Stephens County.
The SCDA is responsible for the recruitment of new businesses including industrial, manufacturing, distribution, corporate and regional headquarters and customer service centers. It also provides support and assistance with all other types of economic development projects.
The SCDA also works with existing businesses and industries to ensure their continued success. While recruitment of new industry is a significant function, aiding in existing industry expansion and retention is just as significant. About 80 percent of all new jobs in Georgia come as a result of existing industry expansion.
